New Tractive active coilovers headed my way! Really interesting story on these. Tractive is Netherlands based company who developed some very interesting active damper technology for bmw motorsports. Deal fell through as FIA didn’t allow active dampening. DSC Sport formed alliance with them creating active suspension applications for Porsche models. Very cool setup that uses my existing DSC controller and DSC has autocross maps to load! They use Swift springs on coilovers as well and customize to customer specs. I’m going for spring rates similar to GT3. Car should still be very nice on street.

Welcome them on as newest sponsor for the Pele T.

This setup will be coupled with my new GT3 style control arms to allow for more camber and more wheel and tire under fenders. ....next step 19x9.5 front wheel and 19x12.5 rear with fat Hoosiers. Shopping 991.2 tune options still but making 500 hp won’t be hard ....Then go GT3 hunting. Lol

Active coilovers. I need to educate myself on that. Sounds cool. And works with your current computer? Nice

DSC Sport that sold me sport controller uses same controller for their active shocks. Just use different software map on same unit. The Tractive coilovers have faster reaction times than OEM Porsche dampers. Very cool technology that takes all sensor data and makes shock react. First test of higher end active shock for me. I like what DSC Sport module does with stock shocks so suspect with even better Tractive dampers I should see some real improvements in traction. Move to coil-overs also helps with corner weight balancing car as well as little more flexibility with wheel clearance when fitting bigger wheels and tires. I do expect to have wider front and rear tires and wheels on car and I dont want to touch stock fenders.

In looking I have a lot more room on suspension side for wider wheel and tire. So should be able to squeeze some good size tires on this car. Worse case looking at 315 rear and 265 front. Ideally will put 285 or 295 front and 335 rear. Just not sure the bigger sizes will fit but Im going to try all tricks in books to get them to fit under stock fenders. Not many of us with Narrow body 991.2 exploring limits yet so lots of experimenting to come.

Im now looking at 19 inch wheels and figuring out sizes and off sets. Have to go with one of few options that will fit over my PCCB brake calipers. Ill be like all gt3 guys running 19s with PCCBs. Scratching caliper and rims but with no real autocross tire availability in 20 inch sizes I dont think I have much of a choice if a want competitive tires and sizes. Hoosier wont commit on timing for release of 20 inch sizes for A7 so 19 is only real option right now.

Ah, the benefits of modern technology. I did go to custom coilovers fronts on my dinosaur front struts. Clint over at Rebel Racing Products hooked me up. Now I need a good rear shock solution since FOX stopped making the ones I had on The Pumpkin.

Interesting, I have been looking at the same ones. Let me know what you find out. Would you be going with single or double adjustable?

Have you guys seen the new GT3 914 front ends from Elephant racing? Allows new gen GT3 suspension pieces to be used. Now just need to figure out how to get rid of that awful rear swing axle.

Talking with BR Racing as they have done a 700 hp Carrera T! TiAl intake and runners, updated intercoolers, modified turbos, headers, Cobb tune. I don’t need 700 hp but going to work on faster spool up and 500 hp with good low end and mid range. These motors rock! So much potential!

Really happy with this car on more technical courses. It’s still on stock dampers and even stock alignment . Just has lightweight muffler now with 245 and 295 re71 tires. Stayed ahead of all GT4s and Caymans on re71s this past weekend. Only several tenths off Monty in his well prepped GT3 that runs wider tires. Heck even giving race tire class cars a hard time now. I’m starting to figure out how to drive the car. Rear wheel steer is really a trip to optimize as a driver. Under drive and it’s not a benefit, over drive and it’s a liability. Have to hit sweet spot just at limit. Really has changed my driving style.

Suspect by July car will be ready to take on big boys and girls . The T is so much fun! So much opportunity with this car.
