OK folks, it's time to start signing up, telling your friends, finishing your car mods and getting your head in the game because the Loma Prieta 2018 autocrossing season is just around the corner.

Here is a link to the registration page. Go there, sign up and then forward it to your friends. See you out there

Ground school for AX? Probably cant get anyone excited about that. Was hoping for driving experience on my side of the hill. Will look into BMW club and Lotus club too.

I also posted the 2 day Zone 7 autocross school which is a driving event. You would be surprised at how many folks get excited about the ground school. Don't forget, not everyone has had the good fortune of tossing their cars around for as many years as you, Grant. Give the new folks a chance to become an asset instead of a liability by learning the ropes from a group of experienced and dedicated autocross junkies. Even experts like you often times find themselves learning through the art of teaching.

BMW CCA just had their AX School last Saturday. Many great students eager to learn.

Grant: You need to put your head back to when you first heard about AX. New members and long time PCA members many times are a
bit shy about just showing up to an AX. They don't know anybody, they don't know anything about AX, they have no idea what to expect,
they don't know what to do!

Ground School gives them a 'safe', comfort zone opportunity-and it's free! Besides giving them a complete overview of PCA AX, it
enables them to meet the AX Team, other PCA members and newly interested, like minded individuals. Not feeling and standing
out as the total 'newb' at your 1st AX goes a long way to turn a 'newb' into a regular.

LPR (I) have done Ground Schools in the past. Always well attended-like 8-10 never AX'ed before, turned at least 3 each school
into regulars.

At this point in time I have 10 RSVP's for Saturday-new LPR members and never AX'ed before. We get 2-3 to catch the bug, the sport continues on.

Mike: If you think this should be moved to the School thread, go ahead and move. Just wanted to reply to Grant's negativity.

Sorry for the rant!

Should have been more straight forward. That wasn't my personal input. The two I shared LPR classroom idea with gave me this input. They want to drive in a class and not go over the hill in class room only instruction. LPR is competing with variety of possibilities over here including track days for these two women from Sheilahs gym in Santa Cruz. Neither are wall flowers and both are highly motivated - they aren't Porsche drivers but they are looking for something either a hands on track day or AX day. I suggested a AX drivers school as easy step to see if they like competition as one was ready to build a spec Miata. Talked her out of that! If you want to make me the bad guy that's fine but reality is Im just trying to help them. No negativity on my part and I think for most beginners especially those over the hill its a great start! Just not a fit for these two.
