Chris,
check over on the bird board and look for Jeff Alton in the 911 area.
he is making custom Fuchs in various widths and offsets....and the ones I have seen look very nice....
custom finishes and paint colors as well.

Yep - I could be mistaken but I believe Zuffenhaus is selling his wheels or he is affiliated in some way.

Lindsey Racing used to also make these types of wheels.

I have a few months to figure it out as I'm waiting to dive into flares, chassis reinforcements and a repaint... I already have some factory 16x8's and 9's here. Plus four other sets of wheels that I will need to sell off at some point. It's bordering on a fetish at this point. :wasntme:

only problem with the 16s is that good tire choices (especially track type tires) are getting pretty thin.

Yup. The wide 16's I just got are pristine and newly refinished and so even disregarding the tire issue, I do not want to use them on the track much if at all. Hence the thought of getting some 17's. I have not had probs getting DOT-R rubber for my current 16x7's as I can only fit 205/45 Hoosiers or Kumhos under my fenders now. There are still a number of options in 205 sizes but the wider ones are getting scarcer every year.

Yea, I was looking at a front tire option for wide-body in a 15 inch. Hoosier only has 225 or 275 in an A6. There has been some noise about the R6 change in compound and those come in a 245. 275 will work on 8s in the rear but not too sure about those in front.

The Hoosier 225/45/15 is happy on a 8" wheel and can be stretching on a 9" so I wouldn't try and cram the 275 on a 8" but that is just me. The width difference in the tire is around 1.5" and the fast guys with custom wheels run the 275 on a 10.5" wheel. The cost difference for the 275 just isn't worth it unless you have the wheel to put it to use.
