Hopefully simple question on tire size

#1 Post by FieryRobot » Fri Oct 07, 2011 12:13 pm

My car takes a 235/305 tire by default. If I were to use a 245 in the front (pretty sure it's not a fitment issue), is that better or worse? It would only give me .2" more tread. The GT3RS has a 245 (albeit on a wider wheel), and the claim there is better turning, though I suspect that is more from the change in offset + width than from the tire.

Point being: is it even worth using a wider front while using the same width/offset?

Any idea why Porsche chose 235s?

Also related... if I were to push the wheels out a bit to RS specs, that would change the stagger (I can't move my rears out at all). Any clues as to what that change would do, good or bad?
