My 2002 Boxster has a dead battery - after sitting 3 weeks. It won't let me access the front trunk to replace the battery.
I follow the procedure in the manual - jumper cables from the door latch to the post in the fuse box - alarm goes off. I turn the key in the door lock (supposed to reset the alarm) and it doesn't work. Nor does the key in the ignition reset the alarm.
Apparently the dead battery is clamping the internal voltage too low for the door lock to be able to communicate to the alarm unit.
I pulled both front wheels and wheel well liners but I can't find any cable to pull.
I've been running a trickle charger (Battery Tender Junior) through the cigarette lighter for a day but it hasn't changed the situation.
Anyone have any ideas.
