Heim joint lube?

#1 Post by Fest911 » Thu Sep 13, 2012 8:28 am

Anyone have a suggestion for heim joint lube? I've heard several people speak of a spray lube that wicks into the gap in the joint then dries as a hard film moly lube that won't attract dust and dirt. Problem is, nobody that speaks of it seems to know the name.

Heim joints if not the sealed type means replacement every once in awhile. Lube wont fix the excess clearences from wear

Your response, while technically correct, deals with a different question ;)
My desire is to address lubrication, not wear, while they are still relatively new.

I have never heard of a lube specifically designed for heim joints. Your higher quality joints do not need lubrication. I always used a aircraft quality joint with no problem.

I received a response off line... Dow Corning 321 spray. It's a spray moly lube that wicks into the joint and then dries into a thin film capable of handling extreme pressure. Being a dry lube, it doesn't attract dirt or dust.
