Re: What are you doing your towing with?
If all you want to do is tow your Boxster you don't need 4x4.
My Chevy 3/4ton Duramax Diesel with Allison 6 speed automatic is not 4x4....
The truck you are looking at will tow open trailer or enclosed trailer with no problems...
if you aren't going off road, or going to the snow, what would you need 4x4 for?

I was just thinking the 4wheel drive hugs the road better... I never driven anything that big. The biggest thing I drove was a mini-van.
Thanks!

Re: What are you doing your towing with?
4x4 will only give you more weight you will be lugging around as you drive up and down highway 5 to the races.
More weight gives you less towing capacity.
and more weight along with more rotating mass of machinery (second drive shaft, half shafts, transfer case etc) will give you lower MPG for your tow vehicle...and gas ain't cheap these days....and the diesel fuel for my truck is even worse...

Dan is correct you do not need a 4X4. I have a V6 Tacoma extended cab. I can pull 6500 lbs. and still get 15MPG. By the way if I score a RV the Tacoma will be up for sale.

Thanks guys! I will look for a 2WD then...
Racing Spec car with the boys, our cars are very similar. The only thing we can compare is the size of our trucks. (just kidding).

I don't know....I will have to go out and measure. It will take the weight just fine with two axles and new springs a few years ago..
