Formula 1 COTA advice

Postby Bill C » Mon May 29, 2017 6:24 pm

We're thinking of going to the Formula 1 race this October and want to know if anyone has any advice for seating with good viewing? Any other track/viewing advice would be appreciated.

You might email Andrew B. I know he went there one of the first years but I don't know if he comes on here to look at the topics very often.

Well, we studied our options for camping and found where the camp sites are located. The "dry camping" is located near turns 1, 2, 3. So we bought tickets for the turn 1 grandstands and reserved a camp site for the weekend. The plan is to drive the pickup to Austin, and rent a travel trailer and tow it to the track. That way we will be totally self-contained and will have our own shower available and should be water tight if it decides to rain. Our pop-up camper isn't exactly water proof and doesn't have a shower. So we feel this will be a good solution. :D

I may be there too. I have a team of people in Austin and go there monthly now. I'll ask some of people I know if they have any tips on event logistics.
